Shivanjani Lal is an emerging artist whose practice questions where she fits in, through her thematic examination of identity and home. She is culturally Indian, was born in Fiji and grew up in Australia. Lal moves between video, installation and sculptural forms to create works that connect and engage with audiences in poetic and quiet ways.

Lal holds a Bachelor of Design majoring in Photomedia and Visual Arts from the Australian Academy of Design and has studied at Parsons Paris. She holds a Graduate Certificate majoring in Arts Management from the University of Melbourne, a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Wollongong and is currently undertaking a Graduate Certificate in Art & Community Engagement from the VCA.
