Trained in collaborative, interdisciplinary arts practice at the School of Arts Griffith University, Sarah-Mace Dennis graduated with first class honours and the University Medal in 2004. Intersecting traditional and emerging technologies, Sarah’s work, which she often performs in herself, is an exploration of issues related to notions of landscape, memory, perception, space and place. Following lines of thought where they have needed to take her, she has written and directed films and music videos and made performances, installations and public artworks.
Sarah has produced work for exhibitions, conferences, screenings and performances in Australia and overseas and her critical and creative writing has been published in various Australian journals. She has received funding from the Australia Council for the Arts, the Australian Network for Art and Technology, the National Association for Visual Arts and Metro Screen/ Screen Australia. Sarah has also been commissioned to create new public video installations and films for Portside Wharf, the State Library of Queensland, Metricon Stadium, the Queensland Multicultural Centre and Melbourne's Next Wave Festival.
