Born in Tokyo, Lisa Andrew has lived in Milan, Manila, Melbourne and New York. She has completed a Masters of Fine Arts at the School of Visual Arts, New York (1994). In 1995 she and two architects were commissioned by the Colombian Government to create new public art in Bogota, for which they won the award for Arte Para La Ciudid (Art for the City). Andrew has exhibited extensively both in Australia and overseas, including solo shows at Volume Beta Space, The Powerhouse Museum and CDG in Cologne, Germany, and group exhibitions at MOP Project, Hazlehurst Regional Gallery, The Tin Sheds and Artspace. She has been a finalist for numerous art awards including Robert Jacks Drawing Prize, and The Paul Guest Drawing Prize, Bendigo Art Gallery and New Social Commentaries, Warrnambool, Victoria. This year Andrew participated in Australian Significant Video at CCP Gallery, Melbourne and in July will travel to the Phillipines for a residency at Lost Projects (curated by David Griggs). Andrew currently lives in Sydney where she works at the MCA , UWS and SCA .
