Biran Langer was the Artistic Director of the Australian International Video Festival from 1988 to 1992 and Executive Director of Electronic Media Arts Ltd from 1990 to 1992.

He has curated many exhibitions of Australian video art for new media arts festivals in the UK, France and Germany. He has worked for Queensland Art Gallery, Manning Regional Gallery, Tamworth Regional Gallery and Tamworth Powerstation Museum.

Langer managed the exhibition and national tour of the Tamworth Fibre Textile Biennial, and from 2002 he was part of the planning team to build a new state of the art gallery and library complex in Tamworth which opened in December 2004. He is currently Director of the Cowra Regional Art Gallery.
