Tension – No.1 & No.2 – Performed by Peter Kennedy
Each part of the piece is of two and a half minutes duration.
1) Seated performer attaches bulldog clips to the front of his shirt and to his sleeves. This activity continues for 2 minutes, at the completion of which the performer stands before the camera, his shirt displaying a tension resulting from the attachment of the clips that was not obvious while seated.
2) The same performer, this time naked above the waist, attaches bulldog clips to his chest and arms. This activity continues for two minutes, at the completion of which the performer stands, or at least tries to do so.
He should persevere until all the clips have been dislodged by the natural movement of rising.
Technical Directions: The camera should concentrate on the area of activity in both parts one and two; that is, the frontal half of the body. The microphone, which has been recording the activity, should not be visible on camera.
