1 video monitor, 1 slide projector, 1 fishtank, 1 found wooden sideboard
Video/sound: Julie Vulcan

The video monitor displays a static image of the artist holding a round bowl in front of her mid torso. Inside the bowl a slowly shifting school of goldfish appear to swim. On the lower level of the piece of domestic furniture, a large fish tank filled with water, rocks and plants provides the only sound from its bubbling water pump. Back projected on the tank is an image of the artist clothed in an orange patterned dress and appearing to float horizontally within the frame. The work continues on from a series entitled ‘Secret Lives’, exploring notions of the shadow and archetype and how these define and spin through our subconscious lives.
