The Great Escape is an homage to the Romantic paintings of Kaspar David Friedrich and sci-fi films like ‘Close Encounters of the Third Kind’ and ‘the Day the Earth Stood Still’ in which extra-terrestrials come to earth to save mankind from its own destruction.
