Array
January 1986

PARADISE OF MARTYRS,1986. 55 mins.

Directed by Bob Plasto

Produced by Imago

In 1985, for the first time since the revolution, an independent television crew from the West was invited to enter the Islamic Republic of Iran. Seven years after the revolution, Iran is a country in search of consolidation, a country of loud hope and silent bafflement. Social discipline and devotion to the Koran on a national and a local scale is depicted, with a high level of fanaticism to the cause of Islam.
