Black Wind includes archival footage of the Maralinga atomic tests carried out by the British in South Australia in the 1950's and 60's. The dispossession of thousands of Maralinga,Pitjantjatjara and Kokatha people, and the environmental devastation wrought, are just some of the many of ongoing ramifications of colonial fallout. This work was made with the support and agreement of members of the Aboriginal Tent Embassy, Canberra;Isabell Coe,Ray Swan,Maisie and Brendan Cook.

"We are at a critical and significant moment in the history of the world and as an artist one feels an enormous responsibility to document the truths of our experiences, not just to simply erase history and support a collective amnesia.

Black Wind documents the aboriginal tent embassy a subversive architecture of protest that embodies and accommodates aboriginal activism and rights for indigenous people.
strategically placed, this camp works as an effective foil to the massive and monolithic white architecture of a colonial society."
