The Role I was Born to Play

Role-play is a part of everyday life, an activity most people do without thinking, a means to an end and a way to present your best side to others. In that sense, role-play truly is everywhere. But not all role-play is considered acceptable in our society. For example, when that role-play takes place in a sexual surrounding, between consenting adults, it’s often considered sick and debauched, the participants labelled sexual deviants. In recent years, increased censorship in Australia has focused on banning Bondage and Discipline (B&D) and other role-play sex from our screens, magazines, and, shortly to be censored on the internet too. With the end of the millennium in our sights, are the conservative elements in our society taking over or have we, as a society, become conservative?
