Joey: An electromechanical Boy

Ian Andrews
1989

An interpretation of the true story (psychological case study by Bruno Bettleheim) of a schizophrenic boy who lives as a machine. He wishes "to become completely automatic in order to rid of his unbearable humanity." The film is not meant to be a formal representation of Joey's condition but rather a visual and aural interpretation of his world.
