In 1978, Rabih Mroue and his brother Manuel who had just arrived from Cuba, wrote lyrics to a song, and synchronized them to a Russian tune. They sang the tune till they memorized it, recorded it and sent the audiotape to their brother Abou Salam living at the USSR at that time.
Face A/ Face B is a metaphysical film exploring the nature of memory and knowledge, sight and sound, physical evidence and identity, and recollection and survival. It leads us on a seemingly autobiographical journey from his childhood, through the Lebanese civil war, to his present as he searches for meaning among the fragments of his memory, cassette tapes, and photos.
