Ache_Me

Tanya Vision
2005

The social role of the videophone can be interpreted as a vehicle for ritual reconstruction of self-image and personal identity. Hence, ache_me frames the videophone as our personal blue tooth, compact mirror. Vanilla ice-cream and ripe acne ejaculate into an awkward pubescent moment through the videophone screen [constructed in a very similar and minimal manner as 'blow' and 'under_ware']. ache_me attempts to ask, how will the videophone perpetuate culturally constructed ideals of personal image? will the videophone deliver both agony and ecstasy as modern compact mirrors?
